Those are <strong>Machine Disallowed Areas<\/strong>, baked into the printer definition files, and there\u2019s no checkbox to turn them off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cura-Cure<\/strong> is a small PowerShell script that removes the Machine Disallowed Areas restriction from <em>all<\/em> printer profiles in Cura in one go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jackharvest\/Cura-Cure\/releases\/latest\">Download Cura-Cure<\/a><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/jackharvest\/Cura-Cure\">View on GitHub<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which printers does it fix?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time of writing, 19 of the 605 printers Cura supports had disallowed areas in their definitions, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creality Ender 3<\/li>\n\n<li>Ultimaker 2, 2 Go, 2+, 2+ Connect and 3<\/li>\n\n<li>LulzBot Mini 2 (SE and SL)<\/li>\n\n<li>Anycubic Kossel and Kossel Linear Plus<\/li>\n\n<li>Cartesio, DXU and DXU UMO, Deltacomb DC20 Dual, Mark2 for Ultimaker 2, Structur3D Discov3ry, and Vertex K8400 (single and dual)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The script is written dynamically, though: if new printers get added, or a printer suddenly grows disallowed areas in its definition, it fixes those too. Just run it once after each Cura upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to use it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Right-click the Start menu and choose <strong>Windows PowerShell (Admin)<\/strong> or <strong>Terminal (Admin)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n<li><code>cd<\/code> to the folder where you saved <code>CuraCure.ps1<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n<li>Run <code>.\\CuraCure.ps1<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n<li>If you\u2019ve never run a script before and see an execution-policy warning, allow it for this session only with <code>Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Scope Process<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The script is commented step by step, so you can read exactly what it changes before you run it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where Cura keeps these files (this week)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of Cura 5.3.0, UltiMaker moved the definition files again, to <code>C:\\Program Files\\UltiMaker Cura 5.X.0\\share\\cura\\resources\\definitions<\/code>. They\u2019ve lived in AppData and elsewhere in the past. Taking bets on where they go next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A word of caution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This may be obvious, but I\u2019ll spell it out: with the restriction gone, your nozzle might run into bed clips if it homes or prints where one sits.
