The original image is named &#8220;obj-host.png&#8221;, which, after a quick google, yielded zero results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bummer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a browser, the URL looks like this: [FQDN]\/ui\/host-ui\/resources\/img\/obj-host.png.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To change it:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Putty\/SSH into your VSCA (vcenter server).<\/li><li>Run &#8216;shell&#8217;.<\/li><li>Run chsh -s \/bin\/bash root<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jackharvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87\"\/><figcaption>My screenshot with all the misspellings and typos. Oh yeah.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Now, open WinCSP, and invoke a connection with the VSCA server again just like you did with putty\/ssh.<\/li><li>I surfed to the following location (which may not be the same &#8211; in which case, search WinCSP for the image name obj-host.png):<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\/usr\/lib\/vmware-vsphere-ui\/server\/work\/deployer\/s\/global\/94\/0\/h5-host-ui.war\/resources\/img\/<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jackharvest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-88\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, download the obj-host.png file, modify it with your favorite photo editing software, and slap it back in place right on top of this guy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your result:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.redd.it\/kvvf78h32ss21.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EDIT<\/strong>: Upon updating VSCA from 6.7.0.21000 to 6.7.0.30000, the changes did <em>not<\/em> persist; You&#8217;ll need to make this quick change whenever you upgrade the VSCA level.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently went on a hunt to find out how I could change the icon represented within Vsphere for the &#8220;server&#8221; it finds.
